Contents of the ITIL v3 SMA for
IBM System Architect

The ITIL v3 Service Management Architecture (SMA) is a complete ITIL v3 compliant Reference Model in the form of a System Architect encyclopedia and accompanying Service Management documentation.

The SMA offers full coverage of the new ITIL v3 books (Service Strategy, Service Design, Service Transition, Service Operation, and Continual Service Improvement), and is 100% compatible with the ISO 20000 standard.

Contents in Detail

The set of diagramming standards was carefully selected to ensure they are simple and easily understood by the widest possible audience.

Furthermore, as the diagrams are closely aligned to the content of the ITIL v3 books, there is a high degree of synergy between our reference model, the books, and commercially available training courses. It also means that the diagrams are generic and not aligned to any specific set of Service Management systems.

The ITIL v3 Service Management Architecture is organized in a hierarchical way. It presents the ITIL v3 contents using 250 diagrams on five levels of detail:

  • A Process Hierarchy diagram with a tree-structured view on all ITIL v3 phases, disciplines, and processes on a single page
  • 26 Overview Diagrams to show how the ITIL processes are inter-related
ITIL Telelogic Processes
  • 104 Context Diagrams, depicting the inputs, outputs, and relevant checklists for the processes
ITIL Telelogic: Context
  • 104 BPMN Process Diagrams, presenting process activities in detail, including responsibilities for the activities, indicated by ITIL v3 roles
ITIL Telelogic: BPMN
